Campaign to Raise $20 Million

Today, TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care finds itself in a defining time, perhaps the most crucial to our future. Due to the increasing cost of healthcare and the number of people needing our service through the aging of America, we are asking our communities to join us in this Capital Campaign. We have the opportunity to make a significant change – to fulfill and enhance our deep-rooted commitment to provide the best possible care and facilities to a rapidly growing population in our service areas of Manatee, Sarasota, DeSoto and Charlotte counties.

As TideWell prepares to meet the needs of the future population by increasing its scope of quality services, we are energized by the magnitude of a $20 Million Capital Campaign, a campaign that will provide an increased number of beds in each of our counties. Our Campaign will increase the number of patients now served through Hospice Houses alone by 58% annually in our four county areas. We will also enhance the strength of the organization’s ability to provide care to all in need with the establishment of an endowment fund that will assure care to the uninsured, underinsured, and charity cases.

On any given day, a list of patients waits to be moved from their personal home, a residential facility or hospital to a Hospice House for excellent pain management and symptom control. Families who bring a loved one into one of our Hospice Houses are given a special gift – they can return to the role of being the loved one rather than the caregiver. TideWell Hospice Houses provide around-the-clock support for both patients and families. With limited beds available at our Hospice Houses and a service area experiencing significant and continual growth, we must expand our existing facilities to meet the growing community needs. By Campaign end, expansion will have increased the number of beds in our service area from 36 to 71 bedroom suites.

TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care has built a house and made it a home. It is a place to live and accept life’s end in peace and comfort. Because the average age of the population in our service area is the oldest in the Nation, our Hospice Houses will continue to be essential for those who have outlived their caregivers and require round the clock care.
