ANNUAL HUMANITARIAN RECOGNITION LUNCHEON
On Friday, February 25, 2011, Tidewell Hospice will hold its 2nd Annual Compassion In Caring Award luncheon, honoring an individual whose contributions to the community echo the compassionate example set by Dame Cicely Saunders, the recognized founder of the modern hospice movement.
Sarasota philanthropist Alice Rau, the inaugural honoree in 2010, exemplified the spirit of this award and the hospice movement through her long commitment to Tidewell and other worthwhile local organizations.
Created in 1980 as Hospice of Sarasota County, Tidewell is committed to serving all those in our community who are living with advanced illness. While its scope and services have expanded in response to community need, Tidewell's commitment to bring compassion in caring has always been its foundation.
Our honoree, whose name will be announced Oct. 1, will be recognized for demonstrating commitment to our core values through gifts of time, talent and treasure in this community. It is our hope that sharing the honoree's story, along with the Tidewell story, will inspire others to live the values of Compassion in Caring.
